Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone! Today I have swatches and a nail art using the new Sally Hansen The Digital Overload collection, and let me just say it’s a gorgeous collection!
Stilettos & Studs* is a charcoal black crelly with a shimmer finish, goes on thin and needs 2-3 coats to be opaque.
Mötley Hue* is a berry crelly that goes on thin and needs at least 2 coats for full opaque coverage.
Digi-Teal is a sky blue creme that is opaque in 2 coats.
*from the Glam Rock collection
Gigabryte is a bright sunshine creme, opaque in 2 coats.
Let’s Get Digital* is a sheer (almost translucent) baby blue with lots of pink shimmer, this is a topper and will not build up to opaque.
* left is 2 coats alone, right is 2 coats over Digi-Teal.
Comparison of Sinful Colors Cinderella vs Let’s Get Digital
(Left) SC Cinderella is a milky sky blue with pink shimmer (2 coats alone) vs Let’s Get Digital which is a clear sky blue with pink shimmer (2 coats alone)
(Right) Swatch is the same but over Digi-Teal.
I personally prefer Let’s Get Digital over Cinderella because of the translucent base, making it more versatile to wear over a variety of colors.
OPI Spare Me a French Quarter, SH Mötley Hue, OPI The Berry Thought of You.
OPI SMaFQ and SH MH are very close in color, except SH MH has a crelly finish where OPI SMaFQ is a creme.
I used Digi-Teal, Mötley Hue, Gigabryte, and Stilettos & Studs to create this watermarble then I used Let’s Get Digital with the waterspotting technique to give it a subtle shimmer. These colors marbled beautifully and held they;re color very well (no base color used).
I bought let’s get digital the other day and I wish it was specified a bit better that this should be used as a topper. I was kind of disappointed when I put it on and realized there was barely any pigment. I’m new to this whole nail painting thing ( chronic biter, topped about 4 weeks ago). Do you know of you can also use these over regular polish, I don’t have any other miracle gel ones right now?
Yes, miracle gel is just the name but this is regular polish and can be used over any polish.
Fabulous polish job!!! How is this done?
It is called a watermarble, you can check out my tutorials page on the blog for a video on how I create them =)
I bow down to your water marble skills!
Haha…thank you =)
Oh wow, that marble is gorgeous! I really like SH colors, they’re a great mainstream brand
Such a perfect watermarble, so jealous of those skills!
Wow! What a perfect topper over a watermarble! And thanks for the comparisons.
You know, I’ve had my eye on Lets Get Digital since I first saw it at Target a while back, I think this post has convinced me to get it next time I’m there!
Yes, you need it!
Great watermarble!
your marbles are always so perfect.
=) Thank you
I was drooling over Mötley Hue and then I saw your watermarble. I definitely need these now!
