Madam Glam Soak Off Gel Review

Today I have something a little different to review, a soak off gel! I have somewhat limited experiences with gel polish (while I know how they work and how to apply them, I change my polish too often to stick with one color for too long), having only tried Gelish’s gel polish, but I’m always excited to try new products.
Madam Glam Soak-Off gel polish is a 3 step gel polish, so you will need the Base, color and Top gels. According to Madam Glam you can use any UV or LED lamp to cure, cure times are 2 minutes for UV and 30 seconds for LED. I used this with my LED lamp and it cured perfectly.
Application: The base gel is very easy to work with, it goes on thin and smooth. The color itself is on the thicker side but applies smooth and easily. I did notice a slight smell to these gels, it’s hard to describe, it’s almost sweet but not overpowering and it goes away once the gel is cured. The top coat is like a slightly thicker version of the base gel, it goes on smooth and glossy, not thick and goopy like some gels.
Madam Glam Bright Barbie Pink (254) is a very bright warm neon pink. One coat has very good coverage, although it can be patchy and uneven in spots, but after a second coat it’s even and opaque.
Overall: I like this gel so much better than the Gelish gel polishes. It dries to a hard shiny finish, whereas, Gelish dried slightly flexible and with my thin nails I experienced chipping after a week or so. If you’re someone like me who struggles with growing out your nails this is a great gel line to try since it offers the strength needed to prevent bending and splitting of the nail. I will have an update post each week to show how this gel holds up, followed by a final review/ removal tutorial.
Price: Madam Glam soak-off gel polishes retail for $17.95/e (15ml). I also have a special code just for my readers which will give you 30% off your order! Use the code YGEL30OFF at checkout.
I love the smell of gel polish – I’ll take it over regular polish any day!
Great review and what a gorgeous pink!
I’ve been thinking about getting some gel equipment for vacations and such. This color looks great and I’m curious how the wear is!
Fabulous!! I loooove that pink! Good luck and hoping that it holds up for you!
These look great! I’m interested to see how they hold up!
Wow! So bright and shiny! I don’t wear gel very often, but when I do, I love it! 🙂
I have always wanted to try out gel polishes, but the curing process seems like a bit of a task.
I have a full hand lamp so it really cuts down on time. It’s somewhat easier than regular polish because you can perfect the way it looks for as long as you want because it doesn’t dry until you cure it.
I admit, there us something tempting about a polish that lasts for a week and still looks pristine. Looking forward to reading how this wears! The color is gorgeous on you, btw 🙂
I don’t know how I’m going to survive this test lol..the SAME color for more than a day!??
I’m not a fan of gels, I haven’t really had a great experience with any I’ve tried. Cute color!
I’m not really either, but I really like this gel and would use the clear just to protect my nails under regular polishes.
wow – this is really cool. I think it’s a great option for anyone looking for gel nails. Loving that hot pink color.
Oh, I have to try these! My nails are always a struggle for me, they break so easily that I never bother to even polish them. The Nail section of my blog is getting dusty though, so I know I need to find a cure for my brittle nails! Great review! 🙂
