JORD Ely Wooden Watch Nails….

Today I have a special nail art design based off this beautiful JORD Ely Wooden Watch…. Isn’t this Ely watch beautiful?! I’m not usually a watch person, mostly because I wear my staple gold jewelry pieces and finding a nice watch to match is pretty difficult. Since actual gold watch are crazy expensive that leaves gold-plated or fake gold but those don’t play well with my sensitive skin and I develop that dreaded green mark or a rash, not cute! This watch is the perfect alternative! The maple wood matches my skin tone and jewelry extremely well and it’s so classic and unique that it goes well with any outfit. If you’re in the market for a new watch I would highly recommend JORD Wooden Watches, they’re lightweight, very easy to put on (I’ve had some watches that require two people to put on because there’s just no way one hand could do it), and well crafted. If you’re interested in how I created this wooden nail art effect keep reading (there’s also a giveaway at the end!!)…. Start with a white base color (Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White On). Note: If you will be using an opaque nude in the next step you can skip this step. Apply 1-2 coats of a pale nude (e.l.f. Wedding Bells). Next, make alternating diagonal stripes across the nail using a medium and dark shade of nude (Revlon Trade Winds & Sally Hansen Bandage). Try not to apply a lot of polish as it will take longer to dry. Lightly go over the stripes with the previous pale nude shade (e.l.f. Wedding Bells). This creates a marbled effect. Apply a quick dry top coat to blend the colors and quickly dry the layers so you can move on to the next step. Using a dark brown or very dark nude stamp on a wood pattern (Color Club Rebel Spirit & BM-022). It’s okay of the stamp isn’t perfect as we will be covering it in the next step. Apply a 1-2 coats of a sheer pale nude (I am using the same pale nude I started with). The more coats you apply the softer the wood pattern becomes. Then, apply top coat and you’re done! To create the flower I used NailStamp4Fun‘s decal technique. I used BM-318 with Angelic White, then painted over the white with Lucky Green, Electric Pink and Sunshine Yellow. Once it was dry I stamped it onto the nail, the white parts are now a pale version of whatever color I put on top and the negative space shows the true color. This is the same technique I use to create the Muppets World Tour Birthday Bash nails I did a while ago. Now for the giveaway!!
