So it seems many brands are jumping on the 50 Shades of Grey bandwagon in light of the new movie coming out, and while I have no desire to see the movie (or read the book) I do love the shades associated with it! It seems we’ve hit a turning point in mainstream polishes, away from “boring” colors to please the masses, instead they are now trying to please the devoted nail polish enthusiasts by releasing duochromes, textured glitters, and this truly beautiful holographic polish! I was lucky enough to not have to hunt to hard for this color (unlike Prosecco), but believe me when I tell you L’oreal Masked Affair is sooo worth the hunt!
Masked Affair is a dusty pale lilac linear holo. This has both large and fine holo particles in it making it sparkle and shine, it almost looks both linear AND scattered! Two coats gives you full, opaque coverage. This has a nice formula, but can be patchy so I recommend waiting for each layer dry before adding a new layer. Also, in my experience adding top coat does dull the flame a bit so for this swatch I did the “holo sandwich”: base coat, holo, top coat, holo.

Price: Retail is around $6.99 at Walgreens, but this has been spotted at CVS, Rite Aid and other drugstores as well.

I haven’t been able to find this at all. Really bummed.
I have this on right now, and while it is gorgeous, it looks nothing like your photos. I guess I can blame it on the lack of sunshine. I never knew that top coat can dull a holo. That could be part of my problem. I am going to try a 3rd coat tonight over my existing top coat. I have to say though that the wear time has been really great!
What top coat did you use, out of curiosity? I wonder if Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in the triangular bottle will not dull it, since it has a reputation of not dulling holos.
I applied a final layer over top coat so this is just the color without top coat. That’s how I like to wear my holos because I don’t want to dull the effect even a little lol 😉

I was able to find this polish, put it on and, when I was ready for my next mani (two days), put this polish Back On! I NEVER have done that. That is how much I love this polish! Thank you for the gorgeous photos!!!

When I found it, it was on the very top of the shelf near the beauty section. You may have to do hunting within hunting 😉
Oh my goodness, Spongebob said it best this is BEAUTIFUL!! I am going to raid every drug store in my area to find it! lol
