Today I have swatches of the two new LE Sally Hansen Halloween 2104 Fuzzy Coat glitter toppers to show you..

Sally Hansen Halloween 2014- Fuzzy Coats

Sally Hansen Halloween 2014- Fuzzy Coat-001Witch-ful Thinking has orangey peach and black bar glitter in a clear base. The base is on the thick side, much like the Xtreme Wear glitter toppers, so I sponged one generous coat over Sally Hansen Night Fright. Using the sponging method you can achieve very high coverage without the polish becoming very thick on the nails.

Sally Hansen Halloween 2014- Fuzzy CoatFur-ankenstein has lime green and black bar glitter in the same clear base. First I just have to say how cute the name is, I know it’s cheesy but I find it adorable =) . Next, this has the same type of thick base so I sponged one generous coat over Sally Hansen OMGhost to keep it from getting thick.

Overall: On their own these go on thick and sparse, it would take several coats to build up coverage, which if that’s the look you’re going for then it great. achieve full coverage without the thickness I recommend using a makeup sponge to apply it. I’m not a huge fan of bar glitter but I do think the color and effect of these is cute although I probably wouldn’t have purchased them since they’re just “not my thing”. I also want to add that cleanup can be difficult, the bars like to hide out in the cuticle area and even using a cotton swab they just redeposit themselves in a different discrete location. Hiding out unseen until you look at the cropped photos, which are zoomed in, and you’re finally able to see these little pests  glitters.

Price: These retail for $5.99 wherever Sally Hansen products are sold.

  1. I have some of these & they can be fun for nail art- but mine are from the core shades.

I’m not a huge fan of bar glitter (for the reasons you mentioned), but I think think the gradient is an amazing way to showcase these! I also think this is a great little set for halloween because they’re just weird enough to be cool for this time of year 😉

These polishes aren’t for me, but I do love what you did with them – much more attractive in a gradient I think!

I just can’t get into these polishes… they have such promise but the short black bar glitters totally creep me out! 😉

I haven’t seen these colors of fuzzy coats anywhere… and they are cool. I like the green.

These are a trip! Perfect for Halloween. It’s fun to see them opaque on their own. There’s something very Cousin It-ish about it.
