Galaxy Nails…

So excited to show you today’s mani!!! I saw so many comments on my Crushed Opal mani that it reminded people of space and since I’ve been wanting to do galaxy nails FOREVER I thought this was the perfect time to do it! I think just about everyone has done these and for some reason I was always intimidated by them, which is why it’s taken me this long to attempt them.  When I saw that February’s Nail Art challenge had a ‘galaxy’ day I told myself it was finally time…

Just for fun I mattified it….

 I am so happy with how these turned out! The base was my Crushed Opal mani (FingerPaints Black Expressionism under Profound Glass Crushed Opal) I then created the galaxy over it using various acrylic paints (dark blue, teal, pink, red,orange, burnt yellow, purple and white). I topped it off with a thin layer of China Glaze Fairy Dust and then added some more Profound Glass Crushed Opal over some of the dark spots.

I love how it looks with top coat and thought it would look cool matte but the matte version loses the dimension that the glossy version has. =(
