OPI Hawaii Collection
Press Sample |
Since the OPI Hawaii collection is so fun and bright I decided to change things up a bit and create nail art looks using all of the colors instead of just straight swatches. They practically begged to be used for nail art, so how could I turn them down 😉
Two coats no top coat. * unless noted
(L to R) Do You Take Lei Away? is a slightly taupe beige creme that is opaque in 1-2 coats. Aloha From OPI is a bright coral red creme that is opaque in 1-2 coats. That’s Hula-Rious is a minty green creme that is opaque in 2 coats. Hello Hawaii Ya? is a dusty medium purple creme that is opaque in 2 coats.
(L to R) Suzi Shops & Island Hops is a pastel pink creme that is opaque in 2 coats. Is Mai Tai Crooked? is a muted medium orange creme that is opaque in 2 coats. Just Lanai-ing Around is a dusty mauve frost that is opaque in 2 coats. Lost My Bikini in Molokini is a medium purple creme that is opaque in 2 coats.
(L to R) Pineapples Have Peelings Too! is a gold frosty mess with micro and small red, blue and green hex glitters and dries to an odd matte finish. This Colors Making Waves is a blue/ teal metallic with gold (or multicolored?) flecks that is opaque in 2 coats and does show some brushstrokes. Go with the Lava Flow is a coral/red with glass fleck and is opaque in 2 coats. My Gecko Does Tricks is a lime green shimmer that is on the sheer side and is opaque in 2-3 coats.
Now for the nail art….
Base color is Do You take Lei Away?. Then I created a stamp decal with Pueen SE04B and B Polished Midnight in Death Valley, and filled in the flowers with Aloha From OPI and Hello Hawaii Ya?
I used a base color of Suzi Shops and Island Hops . I then used a different “stamping” technique with Is Mai Tai Crooked? and That’s Hula-Rious to create a watercolor type effect.
I then stamped over it with BM-710(from the Secret Garden collection) using BM Angelic White.
I created this watermarble using This Color’s Making Waves, Go with the Lava Flow, and My Gecko Does Tricks over B Polished Midnight in Death Valley.
For the gradient I used Just Lanai-ing Around and Lost my Bikini in Molokini. For the accent nail I used Pineapples have Peelings Too? (sponged on) stamped with BM-713 using B Polished Midnight in Death Valley.
I am drooling over your nail art… gorgeous – absolutely gorgeous!
Aw thank you!
I love the nail art you did with this collection! The first floral stamping design is my favorite. Great job
Thank you =)
What a fun collection for Spring/Summer 2015! I agree, they are too pretty to pass on for nail art – your designs are all spectacular! I adore the pineapple and the Secret Garden stamping you did.
Thank you =)
So impressed by your nail art. I love the water marble one the most.
Thanks!!
